Audrey De Los Reyes was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and shortly after began working as an EMT on a 9-1-1 ambulance in Los Angeles. Many of her patients were underinsured and relying on an overburdened Emergency Medical System to put band-aids on chronic diseases and social problems.
It was this experience that first made her examine the role of a healthcare provider in preventing disease and lit a fire in her to seek out a better way to help others heal. After working and volunteering in many medical settings, she was drawn to the Physician Assistant profession and is set to graduate in February 2021.
Audrey believes Lifestyle Medicine is the ideal approach to prevent and treat the underlying causes of disease. She is passionate about helping others adopt habits that keep them out of the ER and enjoying life. Exercise and nature are her “wonder drugs” and she can often be found backpacking, kayaking with her dog, or playing competitive ultimate frisbee.
